Psalms 23:4 NLT
Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.

God’s rod is a tool of protection He will use to beat back the predators of my life and soul. His staff can also be used to jab at predators, and its shepherds hook can be used to pull me from desperate situations and to keep me on the right path by gently fitting around my neck. I am confident in His protection and find comfort when I contemplate His watch and care.
No need for worry or fear, He is watching, leading, and protecting.
Thoughts 
Yep, we like sheep get ourselves into some bad situations! We have our loving God to rescue and protect us. I need God to use that “rod” to discipline me at times, too. That is another way our Heavenly Father, God shows us love.
